We Stress Good Study Habits
Good Study habits result in good understanding and achievement; thus Roenne’s School stresses the importance of this habit.
The courses we provide for the children follow:
Pre-School Department
Phonics – this learning area is critical to the child being able to pronounce words, spell them, hear, and recognize them especially in reading.
Language Development – this area is so important because it has been discovered in a study that some children have a 30 million word gap between themselves and other children. Being able to know more words, understand, recognize and utilize them is a PLUS. Vocabulary is extremely important.
Numbers/Alphabets – these two areas are important as the alphabet is a child’s foundation for learning reading, and speaking while math and numbers represent all things having numbers such as time and measurment.
Social Skills – how one relates to others in various situations is key to how one embraces society in all its aspects with many different cultures and personalities.
Science – this is an important area for determining cause and effect to many actions around us.
Music/Songs – this is the artistic area that works a side of the brain that is not utilized with so much academics.
Elementary Department
Language Development – the knowledge of words, their spelling and meanings is extremely important in communicating with others verbally or in writing.
Reading/Phonics – these two skills are very important as they are the basis for everything printed in all subject areas.
Spelling – it is so important to be able to spell so that your writing is correct and you may be able to compete for prizes in Spellilng Bees.
Mathematics – is required so that one is able to apply skills with what is helpful in the use of numbers.
Social Studies/Social Skills – as our world is like a village today, it is necessary to know about people worldwide and how each community, culture, and country reacts and lives.
Science – is important knowledge in understanding our world and its surroundings, weather, animals, plants, buildings, and Earth.
Health – is important in learning about taking good care of our bodies to be healthy by balancing our academics with physical education, learning about plants through our gardening, eating fresh fruits and vegetables, and taking care of our hygiene.
Music/Art – is a way to balance ourselves and relax in artistic form through song, dance, painting, and dramatic play.
